Eva, my daughter, a junior, had a similar experience in her first weeks at GMU. Mom and I were bummed, too. But we soon learned that friendships bloom over an entire 15-week semester -- and throughout the academic year. We all laugh today about the angst we felt at the time. My daughter now has three wonderful roommates, good friends actually, that she met in her freshman year/spring semester (during Covid even!).
