Does your student need storage space? Check out The UPS Store's Summer Storage Program!

The school year is flying by and it's almost time to plan your student's return home for summer break. The UPS Store on campus makes that task easier with its student storage service - a secure, convenient and economical alternative to hauling belongings home in May and back again in August.

Conveniently located in Mason's Merten Hall, The UPS Store is owned and operated by Didlake, a Manassas-based nonprofit that connects people with disabilities to employment and community engagement opportunities. Didlake, which also owns and operates The UPS Store franchises in Woodbridge and Manassas, purchased the Mason store in October 2021.

“Our The UPS Store franchises provide supportive, integrated work and training environments for people with disabilities,” said Erika Spalding, Vice President of Corporate Communications & Marketing, Didlake. "By using our services, customers help us create a more disability-inclusive workforce.”

The store prints banners, posters, presentations, reports, brochures, resumes and much more. It also offers design services, shipping, packing, notary and mailbox services. Student storage is back by popular demand.

The most popular storage solution -- Basic Storage -- is designed for Mason students who will return to school at the beginning of the fall semester in August. The $300 fee includes five boxes (18x18x16), labels and a roll of tape. If only four boxes are used; a mini fridge can be counted as the fifth piece. Storage is also available for items such as TVs, trunks and bikes, at an additional cost. Large furniture such as beds and couches cannot be stored. Extra boxes and packaging materials are available for purchase on site at the store.

After signing up, your student will receive the boxes, tape, a packing inventory sheet and packing labels. The UPS Store will arrange a move-out day and timeframe to meet your student at a designated pick-up point. The boxes and any other items will then be stored in a temperature controlled, secure warehouse in the area. Please note that it is very difficult and costly to retrieve anything that has been accidentally packed. Please remind your student to be careful not to pack anything they may need over the summer, such as a passport.

On move-in day in August, your student's belongings will be available for pick-up at a designated pick-up point. The UPS Store will schedule pick-up times and notify students via email. For students moving off campus, their items will be located at a centralized, on-campus location for pick-up.
