Auxiliary Services and Operations is here to improve the quality of campus life for students, faculty, staff, and the community. We support the university’s overall strategic plan by providing quality goods, innovative services, and strategic business partnerships that improve value, increase student success, and enhance the university’s financial condition.

ASO impacts everyday life on campus by providing services administered through contracts, such as dining, parking, print and mail, and vending. It also oversees several campus departments, including student centers, the Mason Card Office, the Child Development Center, and Parking and Transportation.

A few of the common ways your student will interact with Auxiliary Services is through their Mason ID, Meal Plan, and Mason Money.

Mason ID

  • Mason ID is a student's official university ID card and their key to life on campus. Students can gain FREE entry to the basketball games at EagleBank Arena, work out at the recreation facilities, access their residence hall, make purchases around campus, grab a bite to eat with a swipe of a meal plan, and more! Mason ID is available in mobile or physical form - students must choose one form only, not both. If students would like a physical ID, they can pick one up during their On-Campus Orientation Day or by visiting the Mason Card Office. The Mason Card Office offers online photo submissions, which will save students time and guarantee they like their photo. Once their photo has been approved, they can activate their Mobile ID.  To submit their photo and activate their Mobile ID, students can follow the instructions at: https://masoncard.gmu.edu/mobile/.

Meal Plan

  • Whether your student lives on - or off-campus, Mason Dining has a meal plan that will for for them! With more than 30 dining choices, George Mason has plenty of options. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, and kosher choices are also available, as well as accommodations for students with dietary restrictions.

Mason Money

  • Mason Money is a prepaid debit program that provides a fast, safe and convenient way to make purchases on and off campus using the Mason ID or a Mason Money Guest Card. One of the great things about Mason Money is convenience!

Here are some questions families frequently ask about Auxiliary Services and Operations:
